Samurai Swords Store App Reviews

Must have heard of the Japanese samurais? They were the elitist warriors in ancient Japan. They were highly trained and mastered that art of sword. Discipline was a part the code of conduct in every samurai class. But had they learnt the samurai techniques in one day? Well, there are 4 well-known samurai techniques. These techniques have made the warriors the man of power today.

Techniques Adopted By Samurais

The yoko giri

While carrying out side cuts, a most common technique of samurai, the yoko giri can be explained well. For carrying out the move, grip the sword tightly with both hands on the right side of your body. Slightly bend both the right and left elbow. Hold the sword just above the waist level. Swing the sword in a horizontal pattern that will slash all objects.

The kesi giri

This is perhaps a difficult move as the sword must be held over the head. Although quite a good amount of force is required but the accuracy in sword movement is far more important. First, hold the sword with both hands above your head. Keep your hands close to your ears. Your wrists should be kept in the center position above the head. For the move, bring down the sword either in the right or left side.

The overhead cut

It is an elegant and simple technique. Hold the sword above your head. The blade should face the sky. Bend your elbows slightly towards your ears. Bring the sword down in a slash. While carrying out this movement, your arms and elbows will automatically straighten.

The nukitsuke

When you are in close proximity, opposite to your opponent, the nukitsuke is ideal. Begin with your both knees slightly bend and spread wide apart. Hold the sword tightly in your right hand. Provide a support in the hilt by your left hand. To lift the sword from the hilt, press the portion in the hilt. Swiftly, pull the sword from the sheath, tuck in on your left and swing it horizontally in the air.
